Inspired by the surroundings of The Last Best PlaceŁ, Roger Cruwys has found the ideal environment to pursue his art.
Currently residing in Bozeman, Montana, Rogers ability to create lifelike images via a realistic impressionism is earning him a reputation of becoming a leading figure in wildlife and sporting art. For Roger, who is equally at home on a stream, covert, marsh or ski slope, art is an itch that needed to be scratched and in 1978 turned his full attention toward wildlife and sporting art as a career.
An avid sportsman, ex-pilot, guide and self-taught award winning artist with undergraduate and graduate degrees in landscape architecture/urban design from Syracuse University and the University of California at Berkeley, Rogers wildlife, dog portraiture and angling art have found ready acceptance throughout the country in major galleries, exhibitions including Easton Waterfowl Festival, private collections and in many national sporting magazines and publications including Fly Fisherman, Field and Stream. Other credits include numerous state waterfowl and trout/salmon stamp prints.
